Looking back at the faded empires of history, one can capture
the causes and factors leading to their decay and final dissolution. When in
the midst of a storm, it’s difficult to understand what powerful forces are at
play – as we are trapped in the present. However, analyzing postmortem is
more accurate than prediction. History is clearer than prophecy; hindsight
better than foresight.
But for those reinforced by history and armed with the
science of human nature, four angry elephants are sitting in the middle of America’s
living room: KOOKS, CROOKS, CORPORATISTS, and COWARDS. Most current observers
somehow miss what we clearly see. What’s apparent are the four elements leading
to an early sunset of America’s day of prominence.
ELEPHANT #1: THE
KOOKS.
The KOOKS are now nearly the majority of the American
religious body. Their ranks have swelled to around 120 million, more than
one-third the U.S. population. Over decades (since about 1950) evangelicals
have multiplied while mainline denominations have remained stagnant or
decreased. Like the traditional Democratic Party, mainline churches (affiliates
of National Council of Churches and the once all-powerful Roman Catholic
Church) have failed to appeal to the average American while the evangelicals,
with their pleasing music and inspiring evangelists, have attracted millions,
erected megachurches similar to convention halls seating thousands, and
dispatched hundreds of thousands of missionaries globally.
The problem with fundamentalists (whom I’ve classified
“KOOKS”) isn’t with their marketing techniques; it’s with their current
religious dogma. At one time evangelicals did not hold such toxic doctrines and
political leanings – were not engaged in a “holy war” against others
alien to their narrow beliefs. At one time evangelicals were tolerant,
compassionate, forgiving, and kind – qualities exemplified by their
revered teacher 2,000 years before.
So, the current madness is a derivative of false Christianity.
It is a desecration of the Christian doctrine and cannot be attributable to the
teachings of Jesus Christ. The false revival is a contradiction of the Gospel, has
split the nation apart, launched wars without end, and is fostering violence
and assassination. Definitely not in the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
The controversy over a Muslim community center two blocks
from Ground Zero in Manhattan is an example. The KOOKS are on the march to
prevent any other religion from practicing religious freedom in this country.
The First, Second, and Fourteenth Amendments are fine – as long as they
alone, the Fundamentalists, are free to participate. All “others” should not be
allowed the same constitutional rights, according to their current mindset.
But the principal tenet driving the KOOK movement is far
more toxic. They desire above all things to witness the Second Coming of
Christ, crave to experience the “Rapture,” and see the beginning of the
“Millennial Reign of Christ” for a thousand years. They see themselves as the
“saints” and all others as “sinners” who’ll be left behind at the surprise
Second Coming — where the righteous will be caught up (“raptured”) into
the clouds to meet Jesus Christ while those remaining on earth (the
“unrighteous”) will remain to suffer the wrath of God, the advent of the
world-leader, the Antichrist, and the 7-Year Great Tribulation.
The way they foresee an acceleration of these prophetic
events is for them to become “partners with God” by influencing governments to
speed up Middle East turmoil and unrest. Hence, the classification “Christian
Zionists.” But be not misled; they are not devoted to Jews; rather they are committed
to fulfilling prophecy so Jesus Christ may return, snatching them from the jaws
of global destruction and ushering in the Millennial Reign where they, the
chosen, are promised “domination” over earth’s ravished survivors following the
Apocalypse or Battle of Armageddon.
Yes, this extremist group, numbering around 120 million,
wants to “hasten the soon coming of Jesus” by helping assist the Middle East to
explode into the “Battle of Armageddon” — a devastating war between the
young State of Israel, its Arab neighbors, and any other nation of the world
which will ally with Satan (liberals, Muslims and left-leaning Europeans). This
extremist group WANTS these things to happen, does not want PEACE, so they have
joined forces with Zionists and neocons to “assist” Israel in settling Arab
lands and transporting thousands of Jewish immigrants from foreign countries.
It’s the epitome of “self-fulfilling prophecy.”
The FIRST ELEPHANT are the “FUNDAMENTALISTS” that take the
Bible literally cover-to-cover and believe anyone disagreeing with their strict
interpretations is of the devil. Thus, the world is a mere 6,000 years old,
there are no such things as evolution and global warming, and anyone that
espouses such “liberal” thoughts is of the devil. Saving the environment, to
them, is also a lost cause relegated to non-Christian “liberals,” because
Christ is soon to appear and there’s no need to worry about ecology. Just
“drill baby drill” and pollute the hell out of the planet, because Jesus is
coming soon and its of no consequence.
They believe there’s a “cultural war” going on in America
between their godly followers and the “liberals” (those who believe in the
separation of church and state and the Bill of Rights). Heart throb issues for
this group include abortion, gay rights, no-separation-church/state, and the
pledge of allegiance. They use “same-sex marriage” issue to drive a wedge in
America in order to help Republicans retake Congress. Organizations and
“think-tanks” of this group include the HERITAGE FOUNDATION, FAMILY RESEARCH
COUNCIL, FOCUS ON THE FAMILY, and CHRISTIAN COALITION. This elephant dominates
the South and guarantees Republicans and Tea-Partiers a lock on most southern
states – which translates into one-third the nation.
The KOOKS have generated a cultural war in the U.S. and have
united with the CROOKS, CORPORATISTS, and false patriots to set America on
course to shipwreck.
ELEPHANT #2: THE CROOKS
ELEPHANT #2 lobbies and works exclusively to funnel and
concentrate more wealth into the hands of the already-wealthy. Class warfare
is, indeed, a real conflict in America, and the CROOKS are winning – with
the assistance of the KOOKS that fail to distinguish the Spirit of Christ from Mammon
(the money god, as Christ described).
The banks, the off-shore tax shelters, the tax-cuts for the
rich (at the expense of everyone else), false-flag wars based on deliberate
pretexts and lies, the too-big-to-fail government bailouts, the Ponzi schemes, the
outsourcing, the shipping whole industries overseas for slave labor, the
ENRONS, Madoffs, BPs, Halliburtons, Blackwaters, and a list too long to cite…
these are the CROOKS stealing America’s wealth and turning it into a
Third-World country of angry paupers.
The CROOKS include American Zionists (not just their
“Christian” hypocritical allies). Zionists work exclusively for Israel, for the
annexation of Arab lands in order to enlarge Israel’s size and security
perimeter, and for overpowering Israel’s neighbors in the region —
militarily. These goals cannot be met without the assistance of the big ally
across the Atlantic. Cost to Americans? TRILLIONS. And the BLOOD of thousands
of average Americans. Plus the decline of the once-great American republic. Paul
Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, John Bolton, Bill Kristol, Harold Rhode, Douglas
Feith, David Wurmser, Abram Shulsky, and many others are part of this tribe of
conspirators. They, the “neocons,” sit on the boards of several right-wing
think-tanks, including the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), Heritage
Foundation, Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), and Cato
Institute. FOX is dominated by neocons.
The rise of the new Tea-Party promises expanded conflict in
the Middle East and expulsion (ethnic cleansing) of Palestinians from their
land in order to accommodate new Israeli settlements.
While the support of the State of Israel is a noble cause,
right-wing militancy and deceit are not. The majority of American Jews do not
advocate ethnic cleansing, exploiting American power and blood to advance
Israel, and military conflict as a tool for lawless expansion.
David
Stockman, Reagan’s Director of the Office of Management and Budget, wrote a
piece recently where he decries the destruction of the economy by his own
party, the Republicans, who are on a “holy war” against everyone else, as
Stockman described them. The GOP deregulated the hell out of the economy so the
CROOKS could act with impunity, then wonders why the nation went to hell. Of
course, they blame it on the Black President that followed.
The CROOKS in alliance with the KOOKS (the myth-believers)
are taking America down.
ELEPHANT #3: THE CORPORATISTS
The third elephant of American extremists is more “secular”
in its views. Elephant #3 includes the Military-Industrial Complex described by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. They see the United States as the
dominant world power — economically, militarily and politically —
and they want to keep it that way.
Their goal for America is to cement it into a military
EMPIRE — where all competing nations — both military and economic
— are crushed beneath America’s feet. They view the Middle East as
America's gas station, the center of the energy resources needed to maintain
U.S. global dominance.
Eventually, if China continues to rise as America falls, the
CORPORATIST ELEPHANT will pull the military card against the Asian giant. One
can hear whisperings to that effect even today. What’s “life” to them except
dominance?
ELEPHANT #3 works toward manipulating the American public into
agreeing with multi-invasions of foreign lands. Propaganda and outright lies
are told by this group to move and mold public opinion to fit their agenda. Elephant
#3 includes Dick Cheney, Newt Gingrich, George H.W. Bush, Bill Kristol, Rupert
Murdoch, Jeb Bush, and thousands more.
This elephant is closely aligned with the CARLYLE GROUP, a
firm serving as the middleman between defense contractors and many governments
scattered around the world. It’s more of a business arrangement in nature than
religious or racial. The RAND Corporation and other defense contractor
go-betweens are also part of the cartel, as is HALLIBURTON, Cheney’s old
business.
Elephant #3 is determined to undermine Labor and the middle
class; presses for more tax-cuts favoring the rich; and is for the elimination
of regulations over business. Achieving their goals inevitably will downgrade
the American laborer into low-paid foreign legionnaire soldier – where
the majority of jobs remaining for Americans will be military-related.
Translation: Americans will regress to mere pawns for the ruling class on the
battlefield chess board.
They worship what they call "Free Market Economy"
and believe it is the panacea for all things. "Free Trade" however is
their code word meaning corporate control by a pre-determined set of
international corporations selected by the ruling class. The common belief
among all three elephants, however, is pre-eminence of the United States and maintaining
its world-wide dominance. The KOOKS worship America, the CROOKS steal what’s
left of America, the CORPORATISTS work to establish Empire Americana, and the
COWARDS? Well….
ELEPHANT #4: THE COWARDS
The FOURTH ELEPHANT allows the other three to rip the shit
out of America’s living room. It represents the spineless Democrats. Elephant
#4, although noble in its causes (at least on paper and speech), sits meekly in
the corner simply observing what the other three are doing to the house.
It started with the stolen election 2000. Al Gore didn’t
have the balls to stand up to CROOKS yanking the election out from under him in
broad daylight. In my view, he (like so many other limp-wristed Dems) was more
concerned about maintaining an image of decorum than defending justice. Thus,
Pandora’s Box was opened and the evils proceeded to eat away at America’s soul.
If there are no cops on the beat, how long does it take
crime to triumph?
Democrats captured both the House and Senate in 2006, then
the Presidency in 2008. With huge majorities, one would expect they’d have the
power to act on behalf of a besieged country. But, no, we found ourselves
encumbered with the likes of Harry Reed who pulled defeat from the jaws of
victory. Appeasement of the right was prioritized over doing what’s right for
the American public.
Neville Chamberlain would fit into Harry Reed’s majority.
Apologizing for speaking truth, compromising away key elements of legislation
necessary for repairing the nation, appeasing right-wing extremists first (the
progressive base last), and agreeing with intolerant racists over religious liberty
constitutional provisions, Senate Democrats (except Sheldon Whitehouse and Al
Franken) have not only weakened Democratic grass-roots, they’ve discouraged the
base into a no-vote in November.
The term “COWARDS” fits. With a 60-seat majority in the
Senate and 256-seat majority (78 more than Repugs) in the House, Democrats
weren’t able to pull much off except a watered-down healthcare reform act and
weak financial regulation bill. America suffers, yet these characters (Elephant
#4) are more concerned about reaching consensus with the party that almost led
to the nation’s total derailment.
Why Elephant #4 can’t respond or act on what it witnesses is
a mystery. In effect, Elephant #4 has made America into a complete nightmare,
because we invested so sacrificially over many years to win the majority
– believing that real and beneficial change would be forthcoming.
I told a friend the other day, “It’s sad; the only person not
a weiner in Congress is Anthony Weiner.” The man has guts – something the
Democratic Party leadership, as a whole, sure lacks.
And their weakness has consequence for all. It’s not a
victimless crime; it’s negligence, malpractice, and abandonment of oath to
uphold the Constitution.
Now we see it all going down the toilet. If so-called good
men fail to act, evil triumphs.
Not just ELEPHANTS make an infectious metaphor.
On October 2, 2003 I had a vivid dream of a great house
infested with termites — eating away at the once great home, a
masterpiece in its day. The great house was the United States and the termites
(who upon closer inspection resembled little humanoids) are the extremists
eating away at the house with no concern for the greater good — who only
want to fulfill their narrow agendas, all others be damned — including
the United States for which they hypocritically pledge allegiance and claim
undying patriotism.
I now see FOUR VICIOUS ELEPHANTS sitting in America’s living
room.
