"2009 AMERICA –
A nation saddled with embedded racists who conveniently invent conspiracies to
justify murder." This could well define the current USA. Assassination is
not certain, but probable – given the current climate, a climate
deliberately set by the fringe right. The whispering campaign grows louder by
the day.
The nation is at
another crossroads. One path leads to a repeat of past violence and a certain
end of world prominence; the other to a better land full of fresh opportunities,
a time for healing historic wounds and defending the planet from environmental
catastrophe which would spell the race's extinction. The crossroads is
ASSASSINATION – by attempt or completion.
There is so much
anger in the heartland these days – inflamed by a right-wing determined
to regain control at any cost; the enragement level is immeasurable. No amount
of credible refutation can dissuade right-wing disciples that Barack Obama is
not a legitimate president. And since he's illegitimate in their eyes, he
deserves immediate removal or death, whichever comes first. Yes, I've head them
voice such; have you not?
If it wasn't the
birth-certificate controversy, it'd be some other lie spewed by the right.
"Death panels," "indoctrinating school children into
socialism," and banning Christian TV and radio broadcasts – totally false
rumors by the hundreds are afloat in cyberspace and word-of-mouth in churches
and communities across the land. And it seems nothing can stop the hateful rumor-mill
except death itself.
Obama's birth in
Honolulu on August 4, 1961, is confirmed by the hospital, state health
authorities and records, two newspaper accounts from Hawaiian periodicals
dating from 1961, his relatives, and every document available to humanity. Yet
the conspiracy lives on. Why? Because its believers want to accept a lie. It's
their desire that's pivotal here; not the lies, per se.
The angry mob
wanted to continue believing the "Muslim myth" until Rev. Jeremiah
Wright showed up. The right went with Wright; they would’ve been discredited
had they attempted to propagate conflicting stories; can’t have it both ways.
Talk-radio and FOX were forced to tweak their story since the wild Christian
preacher gathered more steam with their constituents than the full-of-holes
Muslim myth. (Whichever negative account tarnishes the enemy more, then, by
God, choose the worse, no matter how false or illogical. What's important is
how much damage is inflicted, not whether it's true or false. Validity is irrelevant.)
Then the angry
right hired a gay hooker in Chicago to lie about Obama having sex with him. It
somehow didn't fly – since all the hooker's "facts" and dates
didn't line up with long-established records. He was finally exposed as a male
prostitute hired by the right to make outlandish claims.
So, the right hired
another political whore, Sarah Palin. Her accusation, "Barack Obama pals
around with terrorists," also fell flat. But rightwing devotees still
believe. Then came the "socialist" name-calling. The nation shrugged
it off as more rightwing hype. Still, the disciples believed the worst, denied
the best.
But, in the end,
none of these justifications for not accepting Barack Obama as President of the
United States will be laid to rest until the man himself is laid to rest.

It's just a matter
of time. We're at another major national crossroads – probably more
significant than 9/11.
Hopefully the road
to a better nation will prevail. Unfortunately, we're heading the other
direction. The possible assassination would lead the nation into another dark
night of economic depression, loss of world prestige, social unrest, uptick in
crime, the collapse of the Dollar, and a generation lost before America
recovers.
And who will be to
blame? Who are currently cultivating such a climate? Who are the ones
advocating secession, removing the president from office for allegedly being
born in Kenya, Indonesia or some other foreign country (whichever forgery
sticks best), and praying in thousands of churches for his death?
The right gave us
Bush #2 and we see what came of that. Now they want to hand us an assassination
and don't expect repercussions? They constantly spew inflammatory, malicious,
false rhetoric about President Obama; then don't foresee what will result? I
think not. It's deliberate and intentional, because the final solution to all things
[in their view] is violence and militantism.
But what they don't
figure is post-assassination. America is reeling from eight gawd-awful years of
illegitimate Republican rule. This would be the final nail in the coffin –
I'm no prophet, just an observer.
