“An Empty Bag Will Not Stand Upright” – Benjamin Franklin
Take a look at this fine photograph of Governor Palin hunting dangerous and evil creatures.

Someone please tell Palin that Cheney’s moronic armed conflict visits to Georgia (not the state, the country) is not…….duh, like shooting Caribou or quail, or lawyers in the face. Do us all a favor, like, will someone please tell Palin that the Russians might just shoot back? With the big guns. And what about her telling Katie Couric, “when Putin rears his head, and comes into the airspace of America?” Hunh? “They come over Alaska?” she says. They? Who they? Is that what she really said in order to explain to Katie Couric how experienced she was in dealing with foreign countries? “Our neighbors are foreign countries in the state I am the executive of.” What? Are she really a journalist and governor, talking about Russia, the country Putin is the executive of?
She went on to tag Iran President Ahmadinejad, an evil entity, and said Obama was “naïve” for wanting to sit down and talk with him. Is it just me or did America’s heart skip a beat when Palin started again already with the Bush “evil” Bible fundamentalist rhetoric? Anybody get a sinking feeling about Palin being maybe just a heartbeat away from the presidency?
Her having her finger on the red button scares me beyond belief. This is not the NRA monthly picnic, dudette, so you need to control your testosterone. I found it a bit hollow to kill things that could never shoot back. Oh, I’m not a wuss, I’m here to tell you. I spent a tour as Gunnery Officer of the USS Sumner County (LST 1148) in river operations on the Da Nang River, Viet Nam. I was one of those who did not check the ‘Do Not Volunteer’ box. I have found it to be quite a different proposition to shoot at something that shoots back.
Should they get elected (shudder) what will this lovely McCain/Palin duo do for America? Will they expand the Neocon holy war started by Bush II, the mad prince, and attack Iran? Is this not the same old Neocon road to our own destruction, the ongoing Bush/Cheney warmongering credo, now to be enforced by the new kids on the block, John and Sarah? As Palin told her pastor, the Iraq War is God’s plan, right? Holy sh--!
What about their promises? What does McCain mean by, toothy grin notwithstanding, “For all of you Washington elite, CHANGE IS COMING?” Say what? They be Republican “Mavericks,” right? Isn’t that a contradiction of terms? And Karl Rove always tells the truth. But here we are, stuck in the same old war. Same old drain on our bankrupt Treasury. Same old Bush smokescreens to keep your eye off the Iraq War and the Economy. Truth is, Palin/McCain, packaged in new rock ‘em, sock ‘em, hockey mom paper and ribbons, complete with 5 kids who shoots Caribou, eats moose burgers, are the same old broken agenda of eternal wars and borrow and spend Bush policies. Palin is just another pretty face in lipstick, masking a Neocon agenda that lurks within and attacks with nothing of substance because that’s all she’s got. The pictures, sweet smiles and personal attacks and lies on the Democrats should do the trick. After all, it worked for Karl Rove, didn’t it? But what is the McCain/Palin plan to fix the shambles of America’s shameful economy Bush left borrowed-to-death? What are they going to do about ending the Iraq War, and curing our bleeding soldiers and bankrupt National Treasury? When will they get it that the glitz of Cindy McCain’s $300,000 RNC dress and bejeweled fingers is not America? When will Palin admit that her promises of change are as hollow as the Styrofoam pillars she mocked Obama about? When will she admit that personal attacks are the only thing they got simply because their promises are as empty as a thousand peanut hulls on a sawdust floor long after the band stops playing the “McCain Song” and the ladies whose forms carry the heavy jewels and gowns, leave the convention floor for softer couches, martinis, and feeling good about belonging to Bush’s elite ‘Have Mores?’ After all who is Palin, who demands obedience, loyalty, secrecy while she thumps the Bible, wraps herself in the flag, gives the camera a hockey mom smile, and says, ‘Psst. Trust me.’ How important is it to Americans that Palin babbles and stutters on camera with her limited knowledge on most every subject? Gives few interviews. Isn’t important that our VP know things? When she just might be a heartbeat away from the presidency?
By now we all know how she paid herself Per Diem as governor when she spent 312 days while living in her very own house. Palin paid her husband, too, spent Alaskans tax dollars on both daughters in the thousands. I got to ask, does that smell a bit like the same old Washington corruption and greed? What changes are these mavericks bringing to Washington? We know how sharp is her vindictive knife that slices through enemies, as she fires those who disagree with her and uses her office as governor to get her brother-in-law fired as a State Trooper. Most Americans know by now that the Alaskan government is investigating Palin for these very abuses of power. The YouTube church video is proof that Palin thinks that America is at war with Iraq because we are on a mission from God. Say what? We know she lied about the infamous bridge to nowhere at the RNC and continues to repeat the lie, Goebbels-style, instead of telling the truth that she supported it before she voted against it only after public opinion and Congress decided to pull the plug on it. We know Palin kept the federal bridge money, too, for other Alaska earmarks. You remember, the funds that she said she refused with a “no thanks?” We also know that she supported the corrupt Senator Stevens on the bridge to nowhere at US taxpayers’ expense before she dropped the Senator and her support of the bridge like a hot potato. Maybe it was because Senator Stevens was indicted on 7 counts of criminal fraud that could get him 35 years at Leavenworth, you think?
Does Palin bring real change to Washington? Is this real change or more of the same old greed that has bankrupted our nation, both financially and morally? As governor she demands her staff keep absolute secrecy. How is this different from the Bush secrecy on sealing public records that could incriminate him, Cheney, and his whole administration? Do the sealed-by-Executive-Privilege Enron/Cheney/Ken Lay Energy Department meeting minutes come to mind? Or Gonzo’s attempts to stack the US Attorney rosters with Bush ditto heads?
How is Palin any different from Bush policy on deregulation that led to the mortgage meltdown? Has she said? How does she differ on Bush’s Band Aid policies for handling the real time bankruptcies of AIG, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Bear Stearns, Morgan Stanley, that are upon the nation as we speak? At least Bush has an MBA from Harvard, and despite his 92 IQ, one would think he retained something about the mystery of Economics. So what is Palin’s background on being able to handle the 10 Trillion dollar debt of the US Treasury, while bailing out Wall Street with an additional 700 Billion dollars in taxpayer-backed money? What would Palin have to say about the 3 billion-dollar-a-week cost or the Iraq War? Would she understand that those funds are off-budget and a secret part of the ongoing financial hemorrhaging of this very nation? Will John McCain, who admits to knowing so little about Economics, be able to take up the slack and back Palin up on handling the mess of finances and debt left to us by Bush and his Neocon Carpetbaggers for the past 8 years?
How is Palin different from Bush on interpreting the Word of the Almighty? Does it give us pause to know that if Palin sits in the White House, that she may look into foreign leaders’ souls a la George W. Bush? And what if she sees something evil? Will she press the red button? Here’s a chilling thought: could Palin be dumber than George W. Bush? Is that possible? In her two (count ‘em) interviews with real live news anchors, Charles Gibson and Katie Couric, her broken answers and rambling phrases left us all speechless and dumbfounded. Could Palin really be but a heartbeat away from the presidency? But at least we can fool the Russians. Next time “Putin raises his head in the states Palin is the executive of” maybe Putin will get some payback. “Where do they (Putin) go?” Palin asks. Perhaps on a cloudy day Putin accidentally might fly through the vast air space in Governor Palin’s head, take surveillance snapshots and be ridiculed by the Politburo for returning to Russia empty-handed.
